Good Morning!!

Picture for Good Morning

When I opened the bedroom curtains and let in the daylight my mind went to the curtain that separated the Holy of Holies to the worship area in the temple in Jerusalem, at the time of Jesus.
As I looked a little bit further into this, I discovered that the curtain was something like 60 feet high (approximately 20 meters) by 30 feet wide (approximately 10 meters). This was indeed a huge curtain, and the thickness was described in some manuscripts as being the width of a man’s hand! That measurement is four inches or 100 millimetres thick! So, it was some curtain (a bit bigger than our bedroom curtain!)
When Jesus died on the cross, we read in the Gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke, that the temple curtain was torn from top to bottom. When you think about the size and thickness of this curtain, for it to be torn in two, would have been in itself a miracle. But the real significance and miracle is that it means we have the privilege and joy of communicating directly with Father God, just wherever we are, whether at the bus stop or at the church. Now, with that curtain torn we can bathe in the presence and light of God’s glory.
So next morning, and every morning, that you open your curtains or blinds, and let in the light, give thanks, and be reminded that God wants you to share in His glory and to bless your day.
How about that to start the gift of a new day!
